Lättklinker är inte lätt...

Igår rev vi ner allt som byggdes upp under torsdagen...alla gjutformarna till sulan skulle bort. Små träbitar sparar vi i en hög tills den vattenmantlade kaminen och skorstenen är på plats. De stora brädorna var inplastade innan vi använde dem som gjutformar för att vi ska återanvända dem i mellanbjälklaget.  Sedan var det dags att börja med grundmurarna i lättklinker (leca). Vi kan inte mura själva men vi kan i alla fall hjälpa till att flytta blocken. Lättklinker är inte så lätt som man tror, i alla fall inte de 250 mm breda blocken...Som tur var hade vi många medhjälpare!

Yesterday we tore down everything that was built on Thursday...all the molds had to be taken apart. Small wood pieces will be used as fire wood once we have a wood stove and chimney in place. Large wood boards were covered in plastic to protect them before they were used as molds because we are going to reuse them as beams when we build the second floor of the house.  Then it was time to start with the foundation walls which will be built with blocks of expanded clay aggregate (leca).  We cannot do this ourselves but at least we can help move the blocks around. These clay blocks full of air are not as light as one would expect, at least not the 250 mm blocks....Luckily we had lots of helpers today!
